North American Menopause Society-certified Menopause Specialist
Dr. Waymire is passionate about guiding women through the menopause transition and has a special interest in caring for those who struggle to find quality menopause care, including breast and gynecologic cancer survivors. However, she firmly believes that every woman deserves access to excellent menopause care—which is why she founded Dragonfly Menopause Care, a practice dedicated to providing the expertise, time, and personalized treatment that women have long been denied.

What is Menopause?
Menopause typically occurs in your 40s or 50s as your body naturally produces fewer reproductive hormones. However, some women experience symptoms earlier due to surgery, cancer treatments, or unknown causes. The phase leading up to menopause, known as perimenopause, is marked by fluctuating hormone levels and can bring a variety of symptoms, including hot flashes, brain fog, low libido, mood changes, and joint pain. Beyond these symptoms, declining estrogen also increases the risk of bone loss, heart disease, and cognitive decline, making proactive care essential for long-term health.
During perimenopause and menopause, you may experience a variety of symptoms, including (but not limited to):

-
Changes in your menstrual cycle
-
Hot flashes and night sweats
-
Difficulty with memory or "brain fog"
-
Low libido or discomfort during intercourse
-
Vaginal dryness
-
Mood changes (mild to severe anxiety, depression, irritability)
-
Changes in skin
-
Joint pain and body aches
